Survivorship begins the day you are diagnosed. But what about life during and after cancer treatment? What is your “new normal”? Do you need survivorship care? Are you struggling with physical, emotional, and social changes, such as:
• Fear of the cancer returning
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Side effects like fatigue, brain fog, neuropathy, lymphedema
• Confusion about nutrition and supplements, or how to regain your strength
• How to increase understanding from family, employers, friends, loved ones
Survivorship care starts here at A Time to Heal with effective, evidence and research based programs led by caring, professional facilitators.
What is A Time to Heal?
A Time to Heal is a nonprofit based in Omaha, Nebraska specializing in survivorship care. We offer FREE evidence-based programs designed and facilitated by experts and proven to increase quality of life and happiness. These programs answer your questions, give you guidance and connect you with other survivors who understand your journey better than anyone else.
Why should Survivors use A Time to Heal?
A leader in survivorship care, A Time to Heal has over 20 years of experience and offers programs in small-group settings, virtually from anywhere (over Zoom), in-person at our Omaha office, or through our many partnerships across the United States. New classes start each month. By using Zoom and offering our programs for free, this eliminates many of the health, travel and financial barriers that survivors may be experiencing as they heal.
Survivors should use A Time to Heal because our programs are based on current, credible information from the American Institute of Cancer Research and our Survivorship 101 program underwent an IRB (Institutional Review Board) approved study resulting in ten years of evidence from nearly 1,000 participants on the effectiveness of the program.
Who does A Time to Heal serve?
Any adult cancer survivors and their caregiver(s), no matter where they live, no matter what kind of cancer and no matter where they received treatment.
What would A Time to Heal’s services cost if I had to pay out of pocket?
Mental Health Investment – our nine week, 90 minutes per week Survivorship 101 class provides 13.5 hours of time per participant. The average hourly fee in the Omaha area for clinical oncology psychologists is $150 per hour which would be $2,025 per person if paid out of pocket.
How is A Time to Heal funded?
Thanks to generous individual, corporate and foundation donors! We do not receive any Medicare, Medicaid or federal funding.
