Do you know of a survivor or caregiver who needs our help? It can be difficult to initiate a conversation with someone about finding support, so we’ve drafted a template for you to use that outlines our programs and how we can help! All you have to do is customize our template to your loved one to start the conversation:
Hi [Survivor Name],
You and I have had a few conversations about your cancer journey now. When I heard June was National Cancer Survivors Month—I knew I had to reach out to say I am thinking of you!
There is an organization I know of called A Time to Heal (atth.org) that offers completely free support to survivors in-person at their Omaha office or online via Zoom! Their programs are a cross between a support group and a class, because a trained medical professional guides you through a free workbook and you can share your unique cancer story with fellow survivors who understand what you’re going through.
Their Survivorship 101 program is a 9-week class perfect for talking about anxiety, side effects, nutrition and exercise: https://atth.org/survivorship-101
The Navigating Brain Fog program is great if you notice that you’re having issues with memory or concentration: https://atth.org/brain-fog
This just scratches the surface of the resources A Time to Heal has, but I couldn’t let this month of celebration pass without sharing this great resource with you! If you want to connect with them directly, you can email them at info@atth.org or call (402) 401-6083.
I am so glad we are able to celebrate YOUR survivorship this month!
Cheers,
[Your Name]
